I rarely have a guest chef help out in my kitchen! This week I was lucky enough to experiment with my dear friend, Dominic from Chicago. Dominic’s guacamole recipe is now one of my go-to appetizers and I am sure it will be one of your’s as well.
Guacamole is nutritious and takes only a quick 15 minutes to prepare, it is perfect to pull out as a snack or an appetizer. You can make this guac chunky or smooth depending on your taste and how much time you put into chopping. Dominic is very precise when it comes to chopping! Who can resist this amazing, green dip that has all the right flavors? It’s perfect for guests with dietary restrictions too. This recipe is gluten-free, paleo, and Whole 30 approved!
Guacamole & Corn-Based Tortilla Chips
Be sure to only purchase (or make!) tortilla chips that are corn-based and gluten-free. I personally love to buy from local and authentic brands like 313 Urban Chips by Hacienda Tortilla Chips and you can’t go wrong with the national, yet Michigan born, Garden Fresh Gourmet Tortilla Chips! I’d also recommend pairing this guacamole with a Michigan made salsa! I love salsa with a kick, specifically, the GHOST from MY SALSA. It has an extremely unique flavor that pairs perfectly with Dominic’s refreshing guac.
Cinco de Mayo is tomorrow, Saturday, May 5th and this is an easy and great way to celebrate. Grab some chips, make this fresh guacamole and enjoy a margarita for a great day! Be sure to check back in the future for more Dominic features… I know he makes a mean specialty burger, and I’d love to get his on the blog soon!
